Meet our vocalist J.J.!

Although born in England, J.J. Barton came to the USA when he was 2 yrs old, and his heart and soul are now pure Californian.

His favorite food is Pepperoni pizza, and he considers Rick and Morty to be a modern day masterpiece!

J.J. loves to perform! Fortunately, his Kindergarten teacher noticed this and suggested he might enjoy vocal lessons (thank you, Mrs Kempke!) and singing has been his passion ever since. In 2019 he won Best New Artist at Vocal Star, LA and in 2020, along with his great friend Parker Johnson, signed up to start a rock band. Later that year they did their first show with a livestream of “Howlin' For You" by The Black Keys, and you can still find that video/performance if you search hard online!

In 2021 J.J. signed his first professional singing contract to record the theme tune to the TV cartoon series Monster Loving Maniacs, and later that year was a member of the cast of Love Actually Live performing to over 10,000 people in a 6 week run at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Arts in Beverly Hills.

He is a student at Orange County School of the Arts and when not singing is normally working hard on acting auditions; his highlight so far is being cast in two episodes of Dhar Mann.

But nothing is as much fun as rocking a live audience with his band mates in Duct Tape!

Freddy Mercury, Bruce Dickinson, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars and Charlie Puth are all vocal heroes to J.J. and his favorite song to sing is Don’t Stop Believing by Journey; look out for it at the next Duct Tape show!!
